Education Scene; The Assam Tribune; Letters to the Editor

Sir,
This refers to the news item, 'AASU blames government or pathetic state,' (AT, May 5).
The educational scenerio of the State is in a miserable condition. It seems that the State government is least bothered about it. Students are the future citizens of tomorrow. It is education which makes one a good & responsible citizen. The ongoing state of affairs reveal that the educational authorities are playing with the career of the students.
Non-availability of text books, erroneous question papers, teachers' strikes, delay in announcing the results, etc., are seriously affecting the career of numerous students.
This indifferent attitude of the authorities towards education should be checked immediately. The AASU leaders must take some severe steps in this regard.
Yours etc.,
Monalisa Biswas,
Rehabari, Guwahati.

Mother, Dear Mother; (The Sunday Tribune; 9th May 2004)

She can sacrifice all her joys
To bring a smile
On the face of her child...
One who's ever ready
To face all the sorrows
To free her Children from their woes,
One who never gets tired,
Fulfilling the wishes of her child,
Yes, she's called Ma, Mom or Mother-
The Greatest Gift of God to mankind.
Her Love for her children
Can't be described in words,
Happy Mother's Day 1
To all the Mothers of the world.

Ode to Mothers, 9th May 2004

Ode to Mothers ...
She can sacrifice all her joys
To bring a smile
On the face of her child
One who's ever ready to face all the sorrows
To free her child from his woes
One who never gets tired
Fulfilling the wishes of her child
Yes, she's called 'Ma'. 'Mom' or 'Mother'-
The greatest gift of God to mankind
Her love for her children
Can't be described in words...
Happy Mother's day ....
To all the Mothers of the world.
